To the Moon, the latest feature from Halifax filmmaker Kevin Hartford, is a charming, offbeat comedy about self-discovery, unexpected connections, and finding your place in the universe—even when the universe seems to be falling apart. As his daughter prepares to leave the nest, single father Sam faces an identity crisis of his own. After nearly four decades in the closet, he begins to question who he is beyond being a dad—and whether it's finally time to come out. Meanwhile, his teenage daughter Ella is navigating the challenges of a new school while trying to manage a father who may need more guidance than she does. Next door, Claire has traded her corporate career for dreams of becoming a writer. Hoping to find inspiration in her new neighbors, she instead discovers some surprising truths about her own future. Together, these three unlikely companions navigate love, identity, and new beginnings—all while trying to keep the moon from crashing into Earth.
